Another stunning day in the Elgin valley, plump grapes hanging off the vines and the De Mikke Team is already hard at work harvesting grapes in the vineyards. Juice stained hands, secateurs snapping through the foliage, glistening bunches of Cabernet Sauvignon lying snugly in the picking bins – it’s not a bad introduction to South Africa’s winelands in harvest time for the Belgium group who has flown over from the De Mikke restaurant in chilly Europe.
Joris and Natalie from Almenkerk Wine Estate in Elgin are hosting this hearty group of guys and I have a feeling there is going to be a lot of ‘wine sampling’ done over the next few days!

This is an excellent website with very interesting news and beutiful pictures.
