Ines and Markus are another phenomonal couple who organised their wedding from overseas (Germany in this case) with the help of some wonder-workers out here: Jen and Nici from Zest Catering and Marina and Tina from Elgin Weddings. They celebrated their big day with just twelve of their family and closest friends who all flew out to be there. Wine tasting, balloon flying and trampolining, all in German, made this an awesome wedding I won’t be forgetting :-D Beaumont Wine Farm – another awesome occasion, guys!!! I hope you enjoy the photos – between Ines’ supermodel good looks and Markus’ cheeky smile they were a total joy to photograph!

Ok, so not exactly a sneak peek from Ines and Markus’ lovely wedding on Friday, but I just love the almost Madonna-like quality of Ines in this shot and wanted to share – feel free to comment!

Morning all! Well, if I wasn’t blogging right now I’d be lying like a python digesting the most scrumptious food from yesterday’s Barrel Cellar lunch at Beaumont Wines in Bot River. The lovely ladies from Zest, Nici and Jen, pulled the proverbial rabbit out the hat once again with their awesome fare, all topped off with delectable wines matching each course and a good chat through the farm, wines and vines from the host and winemaker Sebastian Beaumont. The weather was sublimely warm, the barrel cellar cool and inviting – in fact the only bad thing I can say is that this was the last lunch for 2011, so keep a keen eye out for dates for 2012! Enjoy the photos!

Jen’s folks sadly couldn’t make it out to be there, but by the wonders of modern technology the whole ceremony was streamed live to them in Spain!!! How amazing is that??? The plan had originally been to hold the wedding outside under the trees but gale force winds made for a quick change of decision and all the hay bales and guests were snugly tucked into the wine cellar to keep warm and out of the howling gales. How good do those canapés look??? Well done Zesty ladies – scrumptious!

From the first time Jen, Warren and I started talking about the feel of the wedding photography they were after, the word ‘Farm’ kept coming up again and again. Jen is one of the chefs heading up the duo of talent that makes Zest Catering the success it is, and this great little company runs off the Beaumont Wine Farm nestled in cosy Bot River town. Warren has worked at select high-end game farms like Londolozi and Grumeti (among other amazing things he has done, including being a paramedic and wildlife photographer!), and they both felt very strongly that they wanted their wedding to be natural and honest. Warren got ready at the nearby Wildekrans Bed and Breakfast – a stunning little guesthouse chock full of quirky art and breathtaking scenery! Jen got ready at the Millhouse on the farm which is an original building set against a working watermill that has been lovingly restored back to life. Warren has firm Scottish roots and the kilt and accessories were a very important part of the ceremony – love the purple!! Jen’s hair was done by her expert hairdresser friend Lanica and the make-up by her gorgeous sister Ashleigh. The whole day was organised with exquisite precision by the amazing Kim Werner of Wedding Concepts and all flowers were beautifully put together by Elgin Weddings.

I grew up on a farm and this is my ideal type of wedding to shoot – beautiful, intimate and relaxed. Enjoy the photos!

The Shuntin Shed is a fabulous pizza shack on the Bot River train station a few minutes drive off the N2. Jen and Warren chose this for their pre-wedding dinner to have some time to chat with family and friends, many of whom had flown in from overseas for their big day! I love this place and I LOVE their pizzas, both for their rustic homeliness and no-nonsense laid back charm. We had such fun shooting a quick Lovebirds session around the station – grungy, fun and unintentionally vintage  i.e. untouched since the 50′s :-) . Enjoy! Wedding Sneak Peek coming soon…
