I love how each wedding has it’s own wonderful vibe. When Lauren and I met up beforehand to chat about their Lanzerac wedding the words that kept coming up were ‘classic’, ‘traditional’ and ‘elegant’. I relish a challenge and worked throughout the day to keep a formal and timeless backbone to the photo compositions. Lauren and Anwar, I hope you love the pictures that tell the story of your beautiful day. What a delight you two were!! Some weddings are just so full of emotion – beautiful, happy, honest, open emotion… This was one of those. Heather and Ryan were married on the beautiful Elgin farm Valley Green and celebrated outside the homestead under the stars… In between the tears, speeches and bear hugs it couldn’t have been more apparent how much these two are meant to be together. I know that Liza and Scott are going to cherish the memories of their summer wedding day not least because it will always be their sunny reminder of South Africa while they’re back in Europe braving the English weather It was a perfect afternoon on the Atlantic Coast for them – sun, sea and sparkling wine with their loved ones… What a way to start married life! Liza and Scott – I hope you guys love the photos p.s Liza you have the best smile in the world, happy girl!!

Karen and Doug were so lucky to have family friends willing to let them use their ‘backyard’ for their gorgeous wedding – oh, and what a backyard!! Windermere is one the most beautiful farms in Elgin with view, lakes, orchards and a garden that is a lifetime achievement! Karen sent me a moodboard months ago showing what she wanted the day to look like and the talented team at 4 Every Event brought her vision to life down to the smallest detail. What a perfect day for these two lovebirds! They were lucky enough to have Gordon Manuel from the Venue at South Hill to create the perfect menu and to top it all off they had the best ‘Best Man’ speech I have ever heard!! Douglas Lawrence Rupert Cherry, that is one phenomenal friend you have there I hope you love the photos… Assisted by the lovely Kristi Agier.

Carika and Ruan’s Kleinevalleij wedding was the prettiest wedding I’ve shot this year – in the most classic sense of the word! Blushing pastels, an abundance of soft flowers, twinkling chandeliers and a candy pink cadillac! Oh happy day!! These two are something special together – in her speech Carika talked about it taking some time to find each other, but I reckon it was worth the wait! Carika and Ruan, what an honour it was to share your wedding day with you – a real joy!! Sam and Malcolm, what can I say – you guys are legendary!! ‘Fun’ doesn’t even begin to cover it all! I know it felt like the hottest day on the planet but I think the photos just show you two looking radiant and that’s the way I remember it! Happy and together through it all What a stunning day – from the flowers to the dress to the church and the speeches – you guys had it all with some dance moves to spare Wow and again… I hope you love the photos and I’m so thrilled you picked me to share your day For awesome Photo Booth photos from the wedding have a peek here. Alweri & Konrad had the most gorgeously colourful wedding at the stunning Beloftebos just  outside Stanford. They had such a happy, upbeat colour palette of purple, red and green and, would you believe it, even nature chose to share in the colourful joy with the new spring green leaves and carpets of purple flowers in the surrounding fields – amazing! I just LOVED shooting at Beloftebos – the ancient heart of trees set in a beautifully pastoral landscape. Quite unique! And did you see the boutonnieres and matching stripey socks? Love Enjoy the pics of these two – such a perfect fit together…

Some photos of the amazingly beautiful farm Stettyn just outside Villiersdorp. There is so much going on here – from wine to fruit and sheep to grains – and if they weren’t busy enough they also support the local Stettyn school and creche on the farm as well as helping out with leopard tracking projects (sorry, no leopard photos ) and keeping game on the mountain. Phew!

Astrid and Michael win my award for Most Laid Back Couple of the Year and are also in the running for the Braver than Brave medal for planning their wedding in only two months!! A mighty feat effortlessly pulled off (although I don’t doubt there may be a few grey hairs left behind! ;-D). I love that I learn something more about my own take on photography through every single wedding that I do and Astrid and Michael’s couple shoot really reiterated to me how much I love the small moments – those tender interactions that show how much these two people love and know each other. They speak volumes to me… I’m a dyed in the wool romantic and I’ll freely admit it Enjoy the photos… Assisted by wonderwoman extraordinaire Illyan Cloete.
