So many of you may have heard my camera saga already – the story of how I arrived to shoot an engagement session with a gorgeous overseas couple, took off my lens to change it and a big chunk of camera guts literally fell out onto the floor with a sickening whomp… A photographer’s worst nightmare… equipment failure… Well this is the couple and here is the shoot that followed, captured completely on my little old 7D crop frame back up camera. I couldn’t have wished this to happen with a more understanding couple – Sarah and David, you guys are stratospherically awesome!! Not only that but you’re crazy fun too, so I should have been sobbing, but spent the next two hours laughing my sides sore, even through the driving rain. What a day!!
Shot at the ever gorgeous and quirky Old Mac Daddy trailer park.

We chatted quite a bit beforehand about possible locations for this Lovebirds engagement shoot and the words we kept coming back to were ‘natural’ and ‘calm’. Finding the perfect spot for shoots isn’t always easy but I feel so lucky to be in the middle of one of the most beautiful valleys in the country (I may be a little biased here
). So cameras packed we headed off to another perfect and tranquil spot in the middle of Elgin – Mofam River Lodge . Lakes, mountains, rivers, grasses and two picture perfect Lovebirds – such a bounty of beauty!

Sometimes the camera really shows more about people than we can always see immediately from the outside. There is an intensity to these two that comes through so strongly in their photos together here. I’ve loved editing these images for their uniqueness and detail and am so happy they were brave enough to wait out the lashing rain and howling gales to get these shots
Tarryn and Rino, you guys are something special…
