The light we caught at the end of Kerry and Ian’s couple shoot just makes you want to weep! Well, at least it has that effect on me ;-) So much of their happy wedding was just as breath taking, from the gorgeous bride herself (perfected by Marli Basson’s exquisite make-up!), to the view from the wonderful venue Hidden Valley, and the artful and delicious food (can you call food breath taking? The pudding was among the best I’ve ever had – and I’m a pudding fanatic!!). Kerry and Ian managed to plan this whole fantastic affair from the other side of the world (Australia ;-) )!! Well done, you two, on an amazing day – I hope Africa doesn’t seem too far away after looking through the photos :-)

What a treat it was to shoot gorgeous Milandré and Dawie’s wedding at Langkloof Roses in Wellington – a venue really steeped in old world charm… From the millions of soft little rose faces, to the quiet dark chapel, to the plush velvet seating… From our first chat together it was obvious that this was exactly what Milandré wanted for her beautiful day – it would be hard to find a happier bride (or one with more pizzazz)!! Milandré and Dawie, thank you so much for choosing me to be part of it all! What a joyful start to your married life! Brilliantly assisted by the lovely Jezebel da Mota Ribeiro

I can’t wait for Sandi and Simon’s weekend long wedding celebrations next month!! Here is a little introduction to this gorgeous couple – we took a long stroll through the vibrant and historic gardens of Vergelegen. A celebration of summer’s last sparkling greens on a warm afternoon…

Unique expression – as a photographer I think about this a lot. How to show your take on the world and share your aesthetic. I don’t think it would be overestating to say this is the most important consideration in creative photography followed closely by the integrity of the information (especially for weddings). What I adore about Roule and Ed’s happy wedding is just this – the unique expression they gave to their day. They used the perfect backdrop of Roodezand in Tulbagh to create a wonderfully rich and painterly tableau of the Old Dutch Masters style. Plump pomegranates, purple figs, old pewter ware and framed tapestries… Deeply happy making! Along with this, Roule and Ed just happen to be two of the most delightful people you’re ever going to meet! It was such a relaxed day with friends in such a beautiful spot, I feel very lucky to have photographed this amazing wedding… (and that dress!!) Assisted by the lovely Nicole Rich p.s A little touch I just adored were the notes that Ed hung up outside explaining the fascinating (and sometimes less than romantic!) origins of wedding traditions :-D

It is with such a happy heart that I share Sarah and David’s photos of their big day!! What a phenomenally fun couple this is and a total treat for me to photograph! Sarah and David went the extra mile for their wedding – quite literally ;-) as they and almost all their wedding guests flew in from the UK to celebrate in South African style at the ever wonderful South Hill, here in Elgin. Sarah spent a YEAR making 1000 origami paper cranes that hung around the tree for the ceremony – no-one tops that for dedication!! David and his besties got ready at the awesome Old Mac Daddy just over the road. Now I’m not a girl that was born with the shoe obsessed gene but Sarah’s Jimmy Choo’s may be my all time exception – woah!!

You lovely two, I hope you love the photos a tenth of the amount that I loved being there and photographing your absolutely wonderful day! Thank you!

Expertly assisted by the wonderful Kristi Agier.

Tammy and Schalk chose the most beautiful day and the most gorgeous Cape Town hotel  for their happy February wedding! The Vineyard is so full of history, sumptuous elegance and winding fern covered pathways down to the Liesbeek River that runs through the property – a real hidden gem in the heart of the city. Tammy and her family were so hands on with the wedding (from the stationery and decor right down to the amazing cake her mum made herself, flowers and all!) and the whole day went off beautifully from the Constantia Christ Church ceremony to sushi, marimba band live music and drinks on the rolling lawn to really heartfelt speeches and a hilarious photo booth (see the pics here :-) ). Tammy and Schalk, what a wonderful start to the next chapter! Assisted by the ever lovely Illyan Cloete.

Oh I love the warm, playful heart of this wedding!!! Old Mac Daddy was such a perfect backdrop for Nics and Andrew’s big day – as fun, fresh and outdoorsy as they are! 4 Every Event really pulled out the stops and the decor, flowers and summery colour palette were a dream for my camera #clickhappy :-D SO much effort was put into the details – did you see all the gorgeous stationery done by the bride herself?? Nics and Drew, what can I say – match made in heaven isn’t even enough to describe what you two have, but it’s a good place to start…

I love how each wedding has it’s own wonderful vibe. When Lauren and I met up beforehand to chat about their Lanzerac wedding the words that kept coming up were ‘classic’, ‘traditional’ and ‘elegant’. I relish a challenge ;-) and worked throughout the day to keep a formal and timeless backbone to the photo compositions. Lauren and Anwar, I hope you love the pictures that tell the story of your beautiful day. What a delight you two were!! Good luck in all your jet-setting endeavours and send US some photos! :-D p.s Formal and timeless were thrown out the window for the dancing shots – hahaaa! Want to see more antics? Have a peek at the photo booth pics here on Facebook :-)
