The light we caught at the end of Kerry and Ian’s couple shoot just makes you want to weep! Well, at least it has that effect on me ;-) So much of their happy wedding was just as breath taking, from the gorgeous bride herself (perfected by Marli Basson’s exquisite make-up!), to the view from the wonderful venue Hidden Valley, and the artful and delicious food (can you call food breath taking? The pudding was among the best I’ve ever had – and I’m a pudding fanatic!!). Kerry and Ian managed to plan this whole fantastic affair from the other side of the world (Australia ;-) )!! Well done, you two, on an amazing day – I hope Africa doesn’t seem too far away after looking through the photos :-)

It is with such a happy heart that I share Sarah and David’s photos of their big day!! What a phenomenally fun couple this is and a total treat for me to photograph! Sarah and David went the extra mile for their wedding – quite literally ;-) as they and almost all their wedding guests flew in from the UK to celebrate in South African style at the ever wonderful South Hill, here in Elgin. Sarah spent a YEAR making 1000 origami paper cranes that hung around the tree for the ceremony – no-one tops that for dedication!! David and his besties got ready at the awesome Old Mac Daddy just over the road. Now I’m not a girl that was born with the shoe obsessed gene but Sarah’s Jimmy Choo’s may be my all time exception – woah!!

You lovely two, I hope you love the photos a tenth of the amount that I loved being there and photographing your absolutely wonderful day! Thank you!

Expertly assisted by the wonderful Kristi Agier.

I love how each wedding has it’s own wonderful vibe. When Lauren and I met up beforehand to chat about their Lanzerac wedding the words that kept coming up were ‘classic’, ‘traditional’ and ‘elegant’. I relish a challenge ;-) and worked throughout the day to keep a formal and timeless backbone to the photo compositions. Lauren and Anwar, I hope you love the pictures that tell the story of your beautiful day. What a delight you two were!! Good luck in all your jet-setting endeavours and send US some photos! :-D p.s Formal and timeless were thrown out the window for the dancing shots – hahaaa! Want to see more antics? Have a peek at the photo booth pics here on Facebook :-)

Some weddings are just so full of emotion – beautiful, happy, honest, open emotion… This was one of those. Heather and Ryan were married on the beautiful Elgin farm Valley Green and celebrated outside the homestead under the stars… In between the tears, speeches and bear hugs it couldn’t have been more apparent how much these two are meant to be together. What a day and what a party!! Pop on over to see the pics from their photo booth here – HILARIOUS!! :-D

Sam and Malcolm, what can I say – you guys are legendary!! ‘Fun’ doesn’t even begin to cover it all! I know it felt like the hottest day on the planet but I think the photos just show you two looking radiant and that’s the way I remember it! Happy and together through it all :-D What a stunning day – from the flowers to the dress to the church and the speeches – you guys had it all with some dance moves to spare ;-) Wow and again… I hope you love the photos and I’m so thrilled you picked me to share your day :-D For awesome Photo Booth photos from the wedding have a peek here. I love these two! I loved the venue, I loved the (Anzel-designed) stationery, I loved the navy and white colour palette, I loved all the details, I loved (so much!) how happy these two were to be marrying each other – the only thing I didn’t love (so much!) was the gale force wind but it did give us some beautifully dramatic portraits of Anzel in the swaying grasses, so it may be forgiven :-D There really was so much to love about their day. Gabrielskloof was a beautiful backdrop to it all and, shown briefly in the last two pictures here, I think this may have been the sunset of the year! Anzel and Johan – wow, what a way to start your lives together… To see the beginning of their photo story here is the link to their Lovebirds engagement session.

Considering the unpredictable weather we’ve been having Lieria and Louis couldn’t have chosen a luckier day for their gorgeous wedding at Morgenhof in Stellenbosch! We started off shooting at Louis’ parents home where all the guys were recovering hanging out together, getting ready for the rest of the big day ;-) Then on to the stunning Bonne Esperance Guest House with the girls – what a crazy fun bunch of lovely girls!! They were whisked away to the ceremony in a Rolls Royce (nice!) and so began the beautiful wedding story… (p.s Finding that lego piece in Louis’ room with the sticker that exactly matched the design of Lieria’s wedding ring makes that photo one of my favourites of all time! Yes, I love the quirky details :-D ) Assisted by right hand gal Illyan Cloete.

Luck and fate were hand in hand the day we shot Heather and Ryan’s Lovebirds engagement shoot at the incredible wine farm Paul Cluver – from the soft and beautiful light to the rare chance to shoot at this breathtaking waterfall! What a day and what a fantastic couple!! Just the nicest people you’ll ever meet! :-D Heather and Ryan – thanks for braving it all and see you at the wedding! ;-D
