Karen and Doug were so lucky to have family friends willing to let them use their ‘backyard’ for their gorgeous wedding – oh, and what a backyard!! Windermere is one the most beautiful farms in Elgin with view, lakes, orchards and a garden that is a lifetime achievement! Karen sent me a moodboard months ago showing what she wanted the day to look like and the talented team at 4 Every Event brought her vision to life down to the smallest detail. What a perfect day for these two lovebirds! They were lucky enough to have Gordon Manuel from the Venue at South Hill to create the perfect menu and to top it all off they had the best ‘Best Man’ speech I have ever heard!! Douglas Lawrence Rupert Cherry, that is one phenomenal friend you have there I hope you love the photos… Assisted by the lovely Kristi Agier.

Sam and Malcolm, what can I say – you guys are legendary!! ‘Fun’ doesn’t even begin to cover it all! I know it felt like the hottest day on the planet but I think the photos just show you two looking radiant and that’s the way I remember it! I love these two! I loved the venue, I loved the (Anzel-designed) stationery, I loved the navy and white colour palette, I loved all the details, I loved (so much!) how happy these two were to be marrying each other – the only thing I didn’t love (so much!) was the gale force wind but it did give us some beautifully dramatic portraits of Anzel in the swaying grasses, so it may be forgiven There really was so much to love about their day. Gabrielskloof was a beautiful backdrop to it all and, shown briefly in the last two pictures here, I think this may have been the sunset of the year! Considering the unpredictable weather we’ve been having Lieria and Louis couldn’t have chosen a luckier day for their gorgeous wedding at Morgenhof in Stellenbosch! We started off shooting at Louis’ parents home where all the guys were recovering hanging out together, getting ready for the rest of the big day Then on to the stunning Bonne Esperance Guest House with the girls – what a crazy fun bunch of lovely girls!! They were whisked away to the ceremony in a Rolls Royce (nice!) and so began the beautiful wedding story… (p.s Finding that lego piece in Louis’ room with the sticker that exactly matched the design of Lieria’s wedding ring makes that photo one of my favourites of all time! Yes, I love the quirky details ) Assisted by right hand gal Illyan Cloete.

Luck and fate were hand in hand the day we shot Heather and Ryan’s Lovebirds engagement shoot at the incredible wine farm Paul Cluver – from the soft and beautiful light to the rare chance to shoot at this breathtaking waterfall! What a day and what a fantastic couple!! Just the nicest people you’ll ever meet! Heather and Ryan – thanks for braving it all and see you at the wedding! ;-D

Oh my word, what a phenomenally F-U-N wedding this was!!! Natasha, Hessam and entourage sure know how to parté With Natasha’s British background and Hessam’s Iranian background a lot of attention went into special elements of the wedding like the sugar blessing during the ceremony and the Persian cake knife dance (!) – my camera was delighted!! Did you see the incredible 3D laser cut invite made by Arty Miss? Gordon and Emma from ‘Gordon Manuel @ the Venue’ at South Hill pulled off yet another feat of wedding perfection from the organising to the sublime food to the excellent service!

Natasha and Hessam, you guys were so amazingly relaxed and happy happy happy! I couldn’t have asked for more and I hope (know!) you guys had the most memorable day! Here are your photos…

Some photos of the amazingly beautiful farm Stettyn just outside Villiersdorp. There is so much going on here – from wine to fruit and sheep to grains – and if they weren’t busy enough they also support the local Stettyn school and creche on the farm as well as helping out with leopard tracking projects (sorry, no leopard photos ) and keeping game on the mountain. Phew!
