Gabrielskloof is the most breathtaking¬†winery set high up on a hill overlooking the fields of Bot River with their waving crops and flocks of blue cranes. You drive up through the grey-green olive groves to reach the restaurant tucked in between the rock walls and geometric lawns where you’re met by lovely Mariaan and sit down to cool glass of wine and her husband Frans’ wonderful food. Delicious dishes full of locally sourced produce and olives off the farm, selections of handcrafted wines and views through the dappled olive trees – the loveliest way to spend an afternoon with friends in the Overberg.

I just adore shooting at Beaumont in Bot River! A little gem in the heart of the Overberg – so relaxed and full of farm charm, plus the catering team based there, Zest, are a talented duo who make all manner of deliciousness in their kitchen!! Sue and Nick made such a great choice to get married there and the whole day fit so beautifully with their happy, laid back personalities! There was some surprising unforecast rain which moved the reception from the planned garden soiree into the wine cellar, but judging by the laughter levels and all the platters and wine bottles I saw going back to the kitchen empty I can say without doubt that this didn’t impact the happy mood of the day one bit!! Thanks to Selmari Slot for wonderful assisting on the day!

Sue and Nick, you guys take my breath away! So gorgeous, so happy, so meant for each other… I know you’re going to have such an amazing life with all your travels, but I hope these photos will keep a little piece of your heart in South Africa :-)

I think it’s worth consulting a lawyer to find out if it’s legal to be this cute!! ;-D This little munchkin found much more fun things to do than have cocktails at Sue and Nick’s Beaumont wedding ;-D

Sue, you look like someone who just stepped out of a Ralph Lauren ad… Too too beautiful…

On a beautiful blustery autumn afternoon Rika and Izak were married amidst friends, family and so many tears of joy! Their gorgeous venue Gabrielskloof was brimming with soft roses that Rika’s talented daughter Liezl le Roux put together from the amazing rose growers Langkloof Roses where she works – what a delicate and gently colourful display. So perfect…

When I first met Rika she said the day they met she ‘just knew’ – like a perfect puzzle piece fit. I am so happy for these two wonderful spirits and even happier they chose me to share their blissful day with them :-) Enjoy the photos :-D

A little windswept one on the train tracks of Rika and Izak on their wedding day… More photos coming soon :-)…

I love these two! I loved the venue, I loved the (Anzel-designed) stationery, I loved the navy and white colour palette, I loved all the details, I loved (so much!) how happy these two were to be marrying each other – the only thing I didn’t love (so much!) was the gale force wind but it did give us some beautifully dramatic portraits of Anzel in the swaying grasses, so it may be forgiven :-D There really was so much to love about their day. Gabrielskloof was a beautiful backdrop to it all and, shown briefly in the last two pictures here, I think this may have been the sunset of the year! Anzel and Johan – wow, what a way to start your lives together… To see the beginning of their photo story¬†here is the link to their Lovebirds engagement session.

There are so many sneak peek options I am trying to choose between for the beautiful Anzel and Johan’s stunning Gabrielskloof wedding – but somehow I keep coming back to this one… More wedding pics coming soon.
