Katie is a rare beauty, she just takes my breath away! It’s a special thing when a person who’s so lovely on the outside is equally lovely on the inside and from one look you can see that Charles-Eric just adores his bride! They make the most wonderful couple and she was at his side the whole day through a lot of emotion remembering his mom as they began their own family. Kate and Charles-Eric, thank you for including me in your beautiful day and I hope your life is full of wonderful times ahead and lots of lovely lists ;-)

Their wedding was at my favourite venue Rockhaven here in Elgin and put together expertly by Theresa from Creation Events. I was assisted by the lovely Illyan Cloete.

So it’s the end of the wedding year and there’s some breathing space to reflect on everything that has passed this last twelve months – wow!!

I adore collating some of my favourite moments from the year’s wonderful weddings and each year I take some time to highlight some of my favourite    black and white images altogether. I hope you enjoy these photos…

These two… OOOPH, it hits you straight in the chest! SO much love between this special pair… I just could not have asked for a better wedding to end this season. What an amazing day – or even better put – what a personal day! They crafted every detail themselves and chose to celebrate their own family beginning with a handful of their special people on the shore of the West Coast in the seaside town of Yzerfontein. Intimate and perfect… I am so grateful, Taryn and Alastair, that you chose me to witness and capture these memories – THANK YOU!!! I hope you adore the photos and the memories of this phenomenal day… A bride in fluffy slippers is a bride after my own heart ;-) Thank you two for being so lovely!! It means a lot :-) Assisted by the lovely Tanith Muller Photography with incredible make-up by the talented Yolande du Toit and beautiful flowers & furniture by N Concepts & Design.

Jaclyn, Andrew and I were all holding thumbs for weeks that we’d get a rain-free May day for their beautiful Cape Point Vineyards wedding! Well the wishes paid off but we forgot to wish for no wind ;-) That’s a hard wish to grant in Noordhoek to be fair and even through the gusts Jacs was ‘smiles for miles’ the entire day. What wonderful partners these two are – a true ‘meant to be’ pairing!! Jacs and Andrew, I hope this was a day to cherish for you both! You and your lovely families were a joy to photograph and made us feel so welcome. xxx Assisted by the wonderful Illyan Cloete.

Just a quick photo I couldn’t help sharing because I’m totally obsessed with Taryn’s amazing bohemian wedding dress…

A sneak peek from Kelly and Wade’s beautifully classic wedding day at MolenVliet

Livia and Francois were married officially a few months ago but waited to celebrate their wedding party at the gorgeous farm of her lifelong friend up in the beautiful Swartland. Kalmoesfontein, the home of Cornelia and Adi Badenhorst of Secateurs and  A.A Badenhorst Family Wines, was the most beautiful backdrop to this party of parties!! Livia organised a luxury tented campsite for all the guests – the most genius idea I’ve seen in a long time!! The food was the most deliciously memorable feast made by the Karen Dudley and her talented team at The Kitchen in Woodstock plus wonderful florals from Blomboy. The lovely Lisa Brown was on hair and make-up and the phenomenal entertainment came from both 3 Tons of Fun & Roy from Wedding DJs. Enjoy the photos of these celebrations! Assisted by Illyan Cloete.

This post is called Jacqui and Patrick but I just can’t think of them any other way than Jax and Pat. Simply because they are THE loveliest couple who feel like friends instantly and pretty much NEVER stop smiling and being awesome :-D Anyone who knows them will know what I mean! It was my first wedding working with Marius from Weddings by Marius and what a pleasure he made it! All in all it was such a wonderful day at gorgeous Grand Dedale capturing the emotions alongside the talented and lovely Sweefilm and I’m so delighted to share this photo story with you all! Jax and Pat – considering the crazy lead up to the wedding there isn’t a couple who deserved this day more than you! THANK YOU!! Assisted by the inimitable Illyan Cloete.

A tiny sneak peek for Livia and Francois from the wonderful Kalmoesfontein farm in the Swartland.

Lindsey and Lloyd braved threatening rain clouds and Cape autumn gusts on their wedding day at gorgeous Boschendal. But not for a single second did it take the radiant smiles from their faces as they celebrated their marriage and partied the night away surrounded by their nearest and dearest! I really think they willed the rain to stay away until everyone moved in doors – what exceptional timing!! Lindsey and Lloyd, I hope you take away boatloads of memories from these precious hours – thank you so much for having me along! Assisted by the lovely Illyan Cloete.

I have such a place in my heart for the Wellington mountains and these two… Jacqui and Pat’s sneak peek from their amazing wedding last weekend!

The speeches at Tanya and Mark’s wedding made me laugh to tears and gave me such a good glimpse into this fun, happy, adventurous couple’s lives! They’ve taken on so much together and managed to plan this whole beautiful day from overseas with the fantastic guidance and hands-on creative help of Cara from The Mosaic Wedding Company! I can imagine even getting so many lovely family members and friends out from overseas must have been a challenge in itself, but I get the feeling these two are a match for anything!! What a gorgeous day it turned out to be – my first wedding at Molenvliet in Stellenbosch and my first time almost bumping into a wild pig and her babies while I was scouting for the couple shoot! Hahaa! What a day :-D Tanya and Mark, I loved every minute and am so grateful for the chance to spend this time capturing you both as you embark on the next big adventure!

The ENTIRE week before Lindsey and Lloyd’s wedding was spent on weather websites working out our chances for a dry couple shoot – the odds didn’t look good, but Lindsey didn’t let a thing get her down and those positive vibes must have done their work because the rain stayed away until the last minute of our time outside and then bucketed down for the rest of the evening! Great work lovely Lindsey!!

It’s no mean feat planning an entire wedding in South Africa all the way from the Netherlands! Daniella wanted to get married in her home country with family and friends all close, and I’m sure the sun-drenched views over the ocean from the 12 Apostles made it an easy decision for Dieter :-D They braved some serious coastal Cape winds to celebrate along the shores of the Atlantic and start their life together… So much love… Assisted by the wonderful Illyan Cloete and fantastic second shooter Angelique Smith Photography.
