You can tell just how much these two lovebirds were missing their beloved dogs by how happy they were to see this local lab on his daily beach walk :-D They came down from Uganda to celebrate their gorgeous wedding at Palmiet Valley Estate in Paarl and we managed to sneak in a little engagement shoot the week before :-) Grainne even managed to organise a beauuuuutiful Fleur le Cordeur flower crown for our shoot! Cream peonies and baby pink orchids *swoon*… Grainne and Etienne are such a perfect match – a ying and a yang – and it was really fantastic to spend the day with them on this wild bit of the Cape coastline :-D Enjoy the pics – more from their lovely big day with Wedding Concepts coming soon! P.s I have not photoshopped how turquoise that water was!! Huge thanks to Claire Harries Photography for helping trudge bags and reflectors (and keeping spirits up) through miles of sand and wind!

Sand and flowers made me think of that William Blake poem, especially as this gorgeous gaelic beauty’s name is Grainne… To see the world in a grain of sand and heaven in a wild flower… :-) More photos from Grainne and Etienne’s Noordhoek eshoot with this beautiful Fleur le Cordeur flower crown coming soon…

The hardest part of this eshoot with the GORGEOUS Amy and Gray was choosing which photos to blog ;-) I loved so many moments from this Lovebirds shoot on Amy’s family farm Oak Valley here in our beautiful Elgin! A misty morning walk to the dam and back through the greenhouses – such a wonderful morning getting to know these two better before their stunning wedding here next March! Enjoy the photos…

I know I’ve said this so many times before but one of my favourite bits about my job is getting to meet such a wonderful variety of fascinating people! It’s a real privilege to get a peek into their story, especially at such precious times of their lives, like getting engaged or saying their “I do’s”. Anshen flew down to the Cape with his gorgeous girlfriend Ronette, a princess cut diamond gleeming in his pocket :-) He popped the question on Friday, already having booked our eshoot session from afar, hoping she would say yes! And of course she did :-D So Saturday afternoon we headed out to photograph this beautiful ring and their happy smiles on a breath-taking piece of Cape coastline with the mist rolling in… Perfect…

The light and the rocks and the haze – it’s like a bit of a dream… Ronette and Anshen’s Lovebirds engagement shoot was such a joy to photograph this last weekend. More photos coming soon!

So this story started with an email from Brandon, on the brink of proposing and asking whether I would be there to document the big moment – I’m a TOTAL sucker for such romance :-D After lots of chats we decided that as awesome as that would be it’s hard to smuggle in outfits and make-up for a beautiful eshoot without your soon-to-be-wife realising you’re up to something!! So we chatted some more and came up with a glamorous walk around Cape Town ending on the rooftop of the stunning Urban Chic hotel with the setting sun on Table Mountain in the background. I’m sure you’ll agree it doesn’t get more romantic than that :-D Lindsay and Brandon, what a fun day out with you two!! I can’t wait for your wedding next year!! Enjoy the photos…

The most perfectly timed yacht sailing by… Beautiful Lindsay…

This shot makes me really happy… that is all… :-) More photos from Lindsay and Brandon’s graphic cityscape engagement shoot on the way…

So basically I’ve spent the last half an hour agonising over which sneak peek to share – these two lovebirds, plus so much Oak Valley loveliness means one happy camera and a lot of photos!! There’s just something about this shot in the greenhouses that I love :-D Keep an eye out for more of this gorgeous pair coming soon!

Claudine and Pieter-Philip are saying their I do’s up on the West Coast near Jacobs Bay so we decided to do something completely different with their Lovebirds engagement shoot! If you follow my blog, you’ll know how much I love my adopted home region here in the Overberg so on a clear winter’s day we set out to wander through the pine forests of Elgin, camera in hand, to start their photo story… I love the earthy feel to these images…

The very last click of the camera on Saturday’s eshoot  :-) The serene and gorgeous Claudine…

There’s still a nip in the air as winter winds down and a quietness out here in Elgin that you never get at any other time of year. The ground is still sleepy and spring still a few weeks off. I love shooting during winter (when it isn’t raining ;-)) because of the calm colours and low skies that diffuse the light so beautifully -you always get the best and gentlest skin tones during winter shoots. Anchen, Brandon and I drove all the way up to the top of Elgin to Mofam River Lodge for their Lovebirds engagement shoot and found the most magnificent river’s edge waiting for us! It felt like we had found a little bit of the American Rocky mountains, complete with fishermen on the lake, plaid shirts, cut logs and pine forests :-) I just LOVE this shoot and I hope you all enjoy the photos from my first session of the season! Anchen and Brandon, I can’t wait for a totally different vibe at your 12 Apostles wedding in November!! I hope you guys love the pics :-)… Make-up by the wonderfully talent Marli Basson.

Oooh, I love a wintery eshoot!! Here’s a sneak peek of Anchen and Brandon’s lakeside loveliness from their engagement shoot this last weekend :-)

It was a true joy to photograph Dani and Ross – from the incredible beach setting and their vibrant love of life down to so many windswept kisses and their natural ease with each other which translated into something amazing to capture in camera… I hope you love the photos as much as I LOVED shooting this amazing Lovebirds engagement session. I just can’t wait for their gorgeous wedding at the Oaks later this year! Dani and Ross, you two are just a.m.a.z.i.n.g…
