Gabrielskloof is the most breathtaking winery set high up on a hill overlooking the fields of Bot River with their waving crops and flocks of blue cranes. You drive up through the grey-green olive groves to reach the restaurant tucked in between the rock walls and geometric lawns where you’re met by lovely Mariaan and sit down to cool glass of wine and her husband Frans’ wonderful food. Delicious dishes full of locally sourced produce and olives off the farm, selections of handcrafted wines and views through the dappled olive trees – the loveliest way to spend an afternoon with friends in the Overberg.
