The most perfectly timed yacht sailing by… Beautiful Lindsay…

The very last click of the camera on Saturday’s eshoot  :-) The serene and gorgeous Claudine…

There’s still a nip in the air as winter winds down and a quietness out here in Elgin that you never get at any other time of year. The ground is still sleepy and spring still a few weeks off. I love shooting during winter (when it isn’t raining ;-)) because of the calm colours and low skies that diffuse the light so beautifully -you always get the best and gentlest skin tones during winter shoots. Anchen, Brandon and I drove all the way up to the top of Elgin to Mofam River Lodge for their Lovebirds engagement shoot and found the most magnificent river’s edge waiting for us! It felt like we had found a little bit of the American Rocky mountains, complete with fishermen on the lake, plaid shirts, cut logs and pine forests :-) I just LOVE this shoot and I hope you all enjoy the photos from my first session of the season! Anchen and Brandon, I can’t wait for a totally different vibe at your 12 Apostles wedding in November!! I hope you guys love the pics :-)… Make-up by the wonderfully talent Marli Basson.

Oooh, I love a wintery eshoot!! Here’s a sneak peek of Anchen and Brandon’s lakeside loveliness from their engagement shoot this last weekend :-)

Black and white photographs aren’t always an easy sell… It’s sad to say, but it’s understandable why colour images are so much more of a real reflection of the day. But looking from a photographers point of view I find so much to love in a beautiful, evocative monochrome image and I wanted to take a little time to share some of my favourites from the past few years. I hope you love these moment as much as I do…

What a wedding to end off this year’s season! Michelle and Travis said their vows and partied the night away at Langkloof Roses, one of my favourite venues!! The amazing team at Langkloof have made this rose farm into a wonderful little gem hidden just outside of Wellington, full of such charm and creativity. My weddings at Langkloof always seem to be heart-fillingly emotional affairs and this one was no exception. Since both of their dads have sadly passed away this was an especially emotional day for Michelle and Travis. There wasn’t a dry eye in the house, mine included… Michelle and Travis, you two are something special… You’ve been through so much and it seems to have only made you stronger and I know your own family in the coming years will feel loved and cherished because of it… Where are those tissues? A little bit of serene prettiness to start off the week :-) Gooooorgeous Michelle on her beautiful wedding day…

I just loved this wedding from beginning to end! I absolutely adore Beloftebos with it’s rolling vistas, a ceremony area tucked into an ancient tree grove, glowing Overberg sunsets and the wonderful people there who manage to keep the farm charm underpinned with exceptional service, wonderful food and a real smiling can-do attitude! Such a happy and magical spot to celebrate your big day. Deani and Hano made the great trek down from Jozi and managed to pick a rain free May day for their amazing wedding!! Deani looked like a perfect Snow White bride with her exquisite red lips and ebony hair, and Hano may have had a little of that lipstick on his own lips by the end of the day ;-) I love love love the soft light we got for their couple shoot… I hope you enjoy looking through the photos as much as I loved being there to document their day :-) Assisted by the lovely Claire Harries Photography.

One last sneak peek from Deani and Hano’s Beloftebos wedding :-D Doesn’t she look like a Scottish Highlands queen? Too gorgeous…

A tiny sneak peek I can’t wait to share from my last wedding for this season at one of my absolute favourite venues, Langkloof Roses

What a view, what a place, what a couple and what a day!! This is a veeery long post this morning, but I just couldn’t cut it down more :-) Ellie and Grant were married at The Oaks just outside of gorgeous Greyton. This is now one of my top three favourite venues! An original Cape Dutch farmstead that has been lovingly restored, tucked away in a heavenly and tranquil little valley at the foot of the Zonderend Mountains in the Overberg – a more perfect spot to get married you’d be hard pressed to find. Ellie and Grant, you two have been amazing and utterly delightful from the beginning!! I’m so grateful you chose me to share this day with you… Enjoy the photos :-D Assisted by the wonderful Claire Harries Photography.

I just can’t wait to share this one… absolute light and magic!! Ellie, you are so beautiful…

It was a true joy to photograph Dani and Ross – from the incredible beach setting and their vibrant love of life down to so many windswept kisses and their natural ease with each other which translated into something amazing to capture in camera… I hope you love the photos as much as I LOVED shooting this amazing Lovebirds engagement session. I just can’t wait for their gorgeous wedding at the Oaks later this year! Dani and Ross, you two are just a.m.a.z.i.n.g…
