So it’s the end of the wedding year and there’s some breathing space to reflect on everything that has passed this last twelve months – wow!!

I adore collating some of my favourite moments from the year’s wonderful weddings and each year I take some time to highlight some of my favourite    black and white images altogether. I hope you enjoy these photos…

These two… OOOPH, it hits you straight in the chest! SO much love between this special pair… I just could not have asked for a better wedding to end this season. What an amazing day – or even better put – what a personal day! They crafted every detail themselves and chose to celebrate their own family beginning with a handful of their special people on the shore of the West Coast in the seaside town of Yzerfontein. Intimate and perfect… I am so grateful, Taryn and Alastair, that you chose me to witness and capture these memories – THANK YOU!!! I hope you adore the photos and the memories of this phenomenal day… A bride in fluffy slippers is a bride after my own heart ;-) Thank you two for being so lovely!! It means a lot :-) Assisted by the lovely Tanith Muller Photography with incredible make-up by the talented Yolande du Toit and beautiful flowers & furniture by N Concepts & Design.

Bohemia06/06/16

Just a quick photo I couldn’t help sharing because I’m totally obsessed with Taryn’s amazing bohemian wedding dress…

This post is called Jacqui and Patrick but I just can’t think of them any other way than Jax and Pat. Simply because they are THE loveliest couple who feel like friends instantly and pretty much NEVER stop smiling and being awesome :-D Anyone who knows them will know what I mean! It was my first wedding working with Marius from Weddings by Marius and what a pleasure he made it! All in all it was such a wonderful day at gorgeous Grand Dedale capturing the emotions alongside the talented and lovely Sweefilm and I’m so delighted to share this photo story with you all! Jax and Pat – considering the crazy lead up to the wedding there isn’t a couple who deserved this day more than you! THANK YOU!! Assisted by the inimitable Illyan Cloete.

A tiny sneak peek for Livia and Francois from the wonderful Kalmoesfontein farm in the Swartland.

Lindsey and Lloyd braved threatening rain clouds and Cape autumn gusts on their wedding day at gorgeous Boschendal. But not for a single second did it take the radiant smiles from their faces as they celebrated their marriage and partied the night away surrounded by their nearest and dearest! I really think they willed the rain to stay away until everyone moved in doors – what exceptional timing!! Lindsey and Lloyd, I hope you take away boatloads of memories from these precious hours – thank you so much for having me along! Assisted by the lovely Illyan Cloete.

I have such a place in my heart for the Wellington mountains and these two… Jacqui and Pat’s sneak peek from their amazing wedding last weekend!

The speeches at Tanya and Mark’s wedding made me laugh to tears and gave me such a good glimpse into this fun, happy, adventurous couple’s lives! They’ve taken on so much together and managed to plan this whole beautiful day from overseas with the fantastic guidance and hands-on creative help of Cara from The Mosaic Wedding Company! I can imagine even getting so many lovely family members and friends out from overseas must have been a challenge in itself, but I get the feeling these two are a match for anything!! What a gorgeous day it turned out to be – my first wedding at Molenvliet in Stellenbosch and my first time almost bumping into a wild pig and her babies while I was scouting for the couple shoot! Hahaa! What a day :-D Tanya and Mark, I loved every minute and am so grateful for the chance to spend this time capturing you both as you embark on the next big adventure!

The ENTIRE week before Lindsey and Lloyd’s wedding was spent on weather websites working out our chances for a dry couple shoot – the odds didn’t look good, but Lindsey didn’t let a thing get her down and those positive vibes must have done their work because the rain stayed away until the last minute of our time outside and then bucketed down for the rest of the evening! Great work lovely Lindsey!!

I just couldn’t choose between these two for a sneak peek… Tanya and Mark loving EVERY minute of their wonderful day!

We caught the last rays of light burning orange on these magnificent mountains behind Bakoven! Gorgeous Daniella and Dieter’s sneak peek from their beautiful 12 Apostles wedding. Oh how I love South Africa!

Oh what a day, what a glorious, glorious day!! I adore home weddings – they’re always so intimate and full of personality! Jos and Mark chose to get married at her parents house in Greyton with her beloved horses looking on and after a few (major!) renovations there was a wedding venue to dream of… Mark’s mom planted over 2000 plants in the garden over the course of the year leading up to the big day and family members were on call to help with bouquets and boutonnieres – an amazing effort from everyone, from the heart! Marianne from the gorgeous venue The Oaks Estate co-ordinated the day and pulled all the last minute details together beautifully. Enjoy these special moments and imagine yourself walking on top of the Greyton hills in that incredible sunset… It was magical! Jos and Mark – THANK YOU for including me in all this xxx Assisted by the wonderful Tanith Muller.

This is a bit of a different sneak peek! This gorgeous couple, my ultimate foodie bride and groom, went straight from the church to get an ice cream and beer from the wonderful Fanny Chanel at Schoon de Companje – seriously, how much do I love these two?!?! p.s We got ice creams too! ;-)

Getting through your amazing wedding day is a whirlwind of adrenaline, happy tears, and butterflies and it requires the ability to calmly navigate more than a little bit of chaos – try doing that in 43oC heat in the middle of Tulbagh’s heat wave of 2015 in a wedding dress and suit and you’ll start to appreciate how incredible Kelly and Dean are. They looked cool as a cucumber the whole way through!! My fantastic assistant Tobias gave up his New Year’s eve AND his birthday to melt alongside me under a mountain of kit, tripods and reflectors. What a sacrifice!! But we made it through and what a day it was! Olive Rock never disappoints, even in blistering heat and the team there, lead by Simone and Nick, rolled out a celebration to remember! Enjoy the heat hazed photos of this party that started a new family :-D
