Libby and James are friends of ours here in the Elgin valley and this is their second happy family shoot to capture the fleeting baby days of their second gorgeous son :-D What an amazing thing it is to grow up in such a special area, on such a beautiful farm… Here are some photos of a happy childhood on an apple farm.

These are our lovely friends (and awesome landlords!) – the Bruwer family :-D After some rained out dates we finally managed to reschedule our shoot and what a gorgeous ‘sunlight through the trees’ afternoon we got! Elgin is just so beautiful and chock full of sticks and stones and acorns and flowers – perfect for keeping kiddies amused while I click away :-) That being said these two are some of the most natural kids in front of the camera that I’ve ever photographed!! Do you remember Tanya’s maternity shoot on a cloudy Betty’s Bay beach? Can you believe that was over two years ago and today we’re sharing her family shoot with little Cullan running around and beaming for the camera??!! I just dropped my youngest daughter off at ‘big school’ for the first time and I’m really appreciating the bittersweet moments of watching these precious kiddies grow up… Enjoy the photos :-)

This little munchkin is a real angel!! At barely six weeks old she put up with a big camera in her face, changing out of warm clothes on a winters day and being a perfect model wherever mum and dad placed her!
What a little trooper you are, Rebekah :-) And how lucky to have landed the most doting parents in the whole of the Western Cape – you are so loved little one!!

Maybe I should move to Europe where soft overcast days like this grace most of the week… Such beautiful light for this lovely family shoot, moody but gentle. Tanya and her gorgeous growing family were brave enough to photograph on a windy beach in between gusts of oncoming rain to get these shots and I am so thrilled they were so game – love love love :-) Being a maternity and family photographer herself I think Tanya also knows what goes in to getting the perfect shot!
