Kerry and Simon flew out to the Cape, an Australian girl and a South African boy, for the most beautiful Stellenbosch day to celebrate their Zorgvliet wedding. And the winelands were at their best!! They were guests at another of my happy weddings and I love being part of a continuing story, especially as I got to see my other lovely couple Karen and Doug (and baby bump) at the ceremony :-) Kerry and Simon’s wedding was such a calm and joyful affair (until the party later!!) – really the best way to kick off my beautiful 2015 weddings! Thank you two so much for having me along and for making it so lovely and easy to document the beginning of your happy marriage!! Assisted by the lovely Illyan Cloete.

Julia and Henry’s big day at Cape Point Vineyards started with gale force winds and low dramatic clouds hanging over the whole of Noordhoek from the mountains to the bay. By the time we got to the couple shoot the wind had died down to a very photogenic breeze and the sun made the most timely appearance for some beautiful backlit shots! They took the day in their stride with such happy hearts and beamed through all the blur of emotion and hubbub :-) Julia and Henry, thank you soooo much for sharing your classic and timelessly beautiful big day with me… I feel very honoured!! Enjoy the photos… A special thank you too to the wonderful Claire Harries Photography for assisting on the day, driving me around her ‘hood and jumping in last minute to help with some beautiful guest pics!

I first met gorgeous Danette when she was a bridesmaid at Alweri and Konrad’s colourful wedding at Beloftebos back in 2012 :-D So now with Alweri as one of her bridesmaids it really felt like a bit of a happy reunion! Danette and Joe are so perfectly matched, both with the same ready smiles, open hearts and generous spirits, which was such a theme for the speeches!! I can’t tell you what a total delight it was to photograph this special day… It was my first wedding at Nooitgedacht and Kraak Wedding and Event Co-ordination spun their usual creative magic with Danette and Joe’s tables under the stars… Enjoy the pics!

There couldn’t have been a better wedding to start my new season off with… I ADORE home weddings and farm weddings and beach weddings and this was a wonderful combination of all three :-) What I really love about Claudine and Pieter-Philip was their happy, no-fuss attitude to the whole day which made everything flow so beautifully! The other delight was to work with the wonderful team at Kraak, who’s good taste, organisation and can do attitude created a celebration so special and beautifully unique. So enough with me talking, here are the photos of Claudine and Pieter-Philip’s truly beautiful West Coast wedding… SO many thanks to my assistant on the day Angelique Smith. Have a peek at their photo booth photos here!

What a wedding to end off this year’s season! Michelle and Travis said their vows and partied the night away at Langkloof Roses, one of my favourite venues!! The amazing team at Langkloof have made this rose farm into a wonderful little gem hidden just outside of Wellington, full of such charm and creativity. My weddings at Langkloof always seem to be heart-fillingly emotional affairs and this one was no exception. Since both of their dads have sadly passed away this was an especially emotional day for Michelle and Travis. There wasn’t a dry eye in the house, mine included… Michelle and Travis, you two are something special… You’ve been through so much and it seems to have only made you stronger and I know your own family in the coming years will feel loved and cherished because of it… Where are those tissues? Assisted by the lovely Claire Harries Photography.

This is going to be a mammoth post and I’m not talking the woolly kind! Kristi and AJ’s West Coast wedding at the stunning Strandkombuis restaurant on the dunes was amazing! A.M.A.Z.I.N.G!! Surfers to the core, this could not have been a more perfectly chosen spot. Beaches, dunes, salt pans, rustic luxury, relaxed elegance, decor details to die for and the best fish soup this side of Paris – in fact Parisians will be calling for that recipe. So many elements of their day were specially crafted over evenings of many a glass of wine (so I’m told :-D) with their wedding genius bridesmaids, Kim and Kate of Wedding Concepts fame. Their attention to detail really shone through, even down to the fact that since they got engaged they have been collecting driftwood which AJ made into the menu board below as well as the huge hand-crafted wooden heart behind their table. Dedication and creativity hand in hand.

Kristi and AJ, I’m so delighted that you chose me to share such a perfect day and I am totally blown away by your zesty ‘take life and make it’ attitude. My crystal ball predicts so many happy years ahead for you two!
